Rhys questions heartbreak in new single ‘What’s the Point of Crying’

Swedish-American singer/songwriter Rhys has released her latest single, ‘What’s the Point of Crying.’ The lighthearted track is part of her upcoming EP Portland, set to drop on November 8 via The Satchi Six.
‘What’s the Point of Crying’ continues Rhys’ indie-folk journey with beautifully textured instrumentation, blending her distinct sound with universal themes of heartbreak and self-discovery. Drawing inspiration from Ron Sexsmith and Brandi Carlile, the single humorously reflects on how emotional responses to breakups change over time, highlighting the moment when one learns to move on and embrace solitude.
Speaking about the song, Rhys explains:
“Me and my friends talk a lot about first loves and first heartbreaks… you cry like you’re dying for a day, then you just move on. It’s almost become comical for us. This song is about that feeling of acceptance.”
With ‘What’s the Point of Crying,’ Rhys continues to showcase her knack for transforming personal growth into relatable, heartfelt music, all while maintaining an optimistic and humorous outlook on life’s challenges.
