Radio Free Alice release their new single ‘Rule 31,’ marking another major moment for the Naarm/Melbourne new wave/post-punk band as they wrap a massive year of global touring. Produced by Peter Katis in Connecticut and released independently, the track arrives fresh off the band’s sold-out UK run, which closed last week with a headline show at London’s Scala.

Driven by sharp post-punk rhythms and an urgent melodic pulse, ‘Rule 31′ reflects the band’s evolution through months of touring Europe and the US. Recorded at Katis’ Connecticut house-studio while on a break from the road, the single leans into the taut interplay of guitars, bass, and percussion that has fueled their live ascent, capturing the energy that has made their shows increasingly difficult to get tickets for.

Frontman Noah Learmonth explains:

“‘Rule 31’ came about during a soundcheck whilst on tour. The bassline came first and we just built it up from there. We recorded it at Peter’s beautiful house-studio in Connecticut when we had a couple days off from shows.”

The band will join Geese for a sold-out Australian tour in February, with dates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. Additional UK and European festival appearances follow in July, including Tramlines Festival in Sheffield and Truck Festival in Abingdon.

‘Rule 31’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
