Montreal singer-songwriter Pompey returns with his latest single ‘I’m Scared,’ the title track from his upcoming LP of the same name, set for release on September 15, 2025.
Newly released single, ‘I’m Scared’ is a lush, euphoric ballad that delves into the fears and emotional paralysis we face in daily life. With an earnest and fervent delivery, Pompey transforms personal anxieties into a universally resonant track.
Pompey explains the inspiration behind the song:
“The song is called ‘I’m Scared’ and it says it pretty explicitly in the song, but it started off as just a list of things i’m scared of. Then I started thinking about how every decision we make can be seen as fear-based, if you try hard enough. The lesson that I learned is that it’s really important to make sure you’re scared of the right things. Lots of people are spending lots of money trying to scare you into what they want you to be scared of.”
