Pedro The Lion and Lync team up for split 7″ featuring a new rendition of ‘B’

Pedro The Lion and Lync have announced the release of their highly anticipated split 7″, ‘B’, out November 1, 2024, via Suicide Squeeze Records.
Bazan, performing under his Pedro The Lion moniker, offers a quieter, more introspective take on Lync’s post-hardcore track ‘B.’ Stripping away the distortion and chaotic energy of the original, Bazan transforms the song into an acoustic slow-core rendition, bringing out the melody and lyrical depth in a way that feels intimate and grounded. This contrast with the original highlights Bazan’s minimalist approach, which has garnered comparisons to the work of Phil Elverum.
Reflecting on the process, Bazan shared, “Lync struck me as so mysterious and infectious when i first listened in the 90s, three humans writing and playing at the edge of their collective consciousness, and listening again now, that feeling has grown exponentially. I’m beyond honored to contribute to this single release.”
Lync’s James Bertram also praised the cover, describing it as “…a really awesome minimal contrast to the original,” while expressing excitement for the collaboration after so many years.
The ‘B’ split showcases the track’s versatility, with both versions bringing something unique to the table, making this release a must-have for fans of both bands.
