Pearly Drops share surreal new single ‘Pillow Face’

Finnish duo Pearly Drops, made up of Sandra Tervonen and Juuso Malin, have released their new single ‘Pillow Face,’ the latest preview of their upcoming album The Voices Are Coming Back, out August 29, 2025 via Music Website. Known for their contemporary, surreal, and euphoric approach to pop, the pair deliver a track that confronts the downsides of beauty with hypnotic production and emotive vocals.
Continuing the album’s preview, ‘Pillow Face’ is built on a danceable beat and harmonized, pitch-shifted voices, capturing the tension between vanity and vanishing. Its accompanying vlog-style visualizer features cameos from Aziya, Es.cher, and ultra caro, adding to the song’s textured, dreamlike atmosphere. The single follows the previously released ‘Ratgirl,’ with both tracks drawing inspiration from the New Rave movement of the early 2000s filtered through an ethereal, Slowdive-esque lens.
“To us ‘Pillow Face’ feels like a quiet scream. This song lives in the tension between vanity and vanishing. It’s a looping lament about the dread of beauty—how we reshape ourselves to be seen, then disappear beneath the very image we create. A soft suffocation wrapped in rhythm, where the search for perfection becomes a silent spiral. With every repetition, the song asks: What happens when the beauty we craft to be noticed becomes the thing that drowns us?”
Fresh off a run of sold-out UK and European tour dates with Mallrat, Pearly Drops will headline The Lexington in London on September 27, 2025 (sold out) before returning to London for a headline show at XOYO on March 5, 2026.
