Munan blends house grooves with grunge-disco edge on ‘Stoked & Stoned’

South Korean-Australian artist Munan kicks off the new year with ‘Stoked & Stoned,’ a bold new single that signals an exciting evolution in his sound. The track also sets the stage for a forthcoming EP, promising more genre-blending explorations in the coming months.
With ‘Stoked & Stoned,’ Munan seamlessly fuses house music elements with a gritty, grunge-infused disco energy. The song originates from one of his earliest ideas and remains one of the most personal tracks on the upcoming project. Inspired by a dive bar of the same name, the single pays tribute to the vibrant atmosphere, friendships, and music that made the place special.
“‘Stoked & Stoned’ is one of the oldest and most meaningful tracks in my upcoming project. It draws inspiration from a dive bar of the same name, which was our go-to spot for weekend hangouts. The place held a special energy, full of memories shared with old friends and new faces. This track is my tribute to the atmosphere, the people, and the music that made the bar such a special place.
“The track itself started with a simple bass loop I recorded in my small studio. As a huge fan of house and disco music, I’ve always loved those addictive basslines and driving disco beats. With ‘Stoked & Stoned,’ I wanted to blend the grooves of house music with a gritty, grunge-rock disco vibe.”
Out now, ‘Stoked & Stoned’ marks an exciting new phase for Munan as he carves out his own space in the electronic and indie-disco scene.
