Moody Joody drops playful new single ‘Cuts Deep’ ahead of debut EP
Nashville-based shimmer pop trio Moody Joody has just released their latest single, ‘Cuts Deep.’
‘Cuts Deep’ captures the frantic energy of navigating a situationship that’s turned into something more. With high-energy synths and a sassy, slightly sarcastic tone, the song delves into the anxiety and excitement of defining a relationship. Written during an off day in New York City with frequent collaborator Scott Harris, the track perfectly encapsulates Moody Joody’s signature blend of fun, synth-driven pop.
Reflecting on the recording process, guitarist and vocalist Kaitie Forbes shared:
“Scott went into the vocal booth, had Andrew [producer] crank the autotune, and started singing what turned out to be the icing on the cake of this song. His background vocals add a feeling of yearning and make you get in your feels a little bit more, while also trying to give off that ‘I don’t care’ attitude.”
‘Cuts Deep’ is out now. their debut EP Dream Girl is due out November 8 via Photo Finish Records.
