Mon Rovîa shares stirring new single ‘Oh Wide World’ in support of mental health awareness
Afro-Appalachian folk artist Mon Rovîa returns with a powerful new single, ‘Oh Wide World,’ released today in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Month.
Following his recent EP Act 4: Atonement, the final entry in an introspective four-part series, ‘Oh Wide World’ serves as a luminous call to courage, community, and emotional honesty. Blending his Liberian roots with Appalachian folk textures, Rovîa crafts a song that urges listeners to move past fear and open themselves to connection and healing. The track continues his exploration of resilience, identity, and vulnerability through a uniquely personal and genre-blending lens.
Mon explains:
“‘Oh Wide World’ is a testament to resilience and hope, urging listeners to step beyond fear into boundless opportunity. In these challenging times, this song gently reminds us to embrace the world’s goodness. It reflects the healing power of embracing one’s truth, especially for me as a man navigating mental health struggles. It encourages me to go out, find others who share these experiences, and continue together—because if you don’t go, you’ll never know, and only you can decide to try.”
In partnership with To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA), a nonprofit supporting those facing mental health challenges, a portion of proceeds from ‘Oh Wide World’ will be donated to the organization. The collaboration highlights Rovîa’s commitment to using his music as a platform for advocacy and connection.
