Midnight Pool Party release ‘OUTTA YOUR MIND’ – A disco-pop anthem for letting go
Australian disco duo Midnight Pool Party return with their infectious new single ‘OUTTA YOUR MIND,’ out now via Mammal Sounds. Following recent releases ‘FIDELITY,’ ‘WHAT AM I GONNA DO?’ and ‘NEVER GONNA GIVE UP,’ the Sydney-based pair continue their streak of groove-laden disco-pop tracks with a song designed to shake off the stress of the week and embrace the good times.
‘OUTTA YOUR MIND’ blends playful production with shimmering synths and buoyant rhythms, carrying Midnight Pool Party’s signature balance of disco flair and pop accessibility. The song’s theme centers around confidence, friendship, and rejecting unwanted attention — an anthem for those choosing joy and boundaries over burnout.
The band explains:
“The song’s basically about having a shitty week at work and just wanting to hang out with your friends and not needing attention from anyone else. It’s about confidence, setting boundaries, and firmly rejecting any assumption that you are available or interested. It’s very much a ‘I’m with my friends, leave us alone’ kinda vibe.
“I actually wrote this one night after a stressful week at work. I just needed to write something carefree. The song came together in about 30 minutes. The next time Ollie came over, we arranged it in under an hour, and we just knew it had to be the next single.”
