MF Tomlinson opens a dreamscape with their new single ‘Blink And You’ll Miss It’

MF Tomlinson has released his latest single, ‘Blink And You’ll Miss It,’ offering a lush and introspective preview of his upcoming album Die To Wake Up From A Dream, out 11th July via PRAH Recordings.
The new single, created in collaboration with Gary Barber of Is Tropical, serves as the album’s opener and blends softly plucked guitars, flute flourishes, warm saxophone lines, and glowing harmonies. It’s a meditative piece that explores themes of aging and presence, grounded in an ethereal sound that draws from Galaxie 500, My Bloody Valentine, and Astral Weeks. The track sets the tone for the album’s sweeping sonic and emotional landscape, functioning as what Tomlinson calls “the sound of all of your life happening at once.”
Speaking on the single, Tomlinson shares:
“The song is about aging, at any age. As the album’s opener, it flows seamlessly from We Are Still Wild Horses down to the beat. It’s a moment — a view from a great height — when the full weight of the distance between the person you used to be and the person you are now hits you like a freight train. It fills you up and empties you out all at once. Everything that has happened brought you here. You can never go back, but then again, you don’t need to. All of those moments are still happening endlessly inside you. You’re holding them all like a vessel.”
‘Blink And You’ll Miss It’ is out now. Die To Wake Up From A Dream is available to pre-order on vinyl.
