Sydney alt-pop star merci, mercy announces new EP Like A Orchid / Releases new single ‘Silver Lining’

Alt-pop artist merci, mercy announces the forthcoming release of her third EP, Like An Orchid, set for release on November 24 via Liberation Records.
Featuring singles ‘Shovel’ and ‘Lonely & Horny,’ which have already been played out by BBC Radio 1 on Jack Saunders’ Future Artists show and Mollie King’s Future Pop show, ‘Silver Lining’ arrives via a different lane. Released alongside an animated lyric video, the track emanates merci, mercy’s joyful and lighthearted attitude while covering some heavy subjects.
Speaking about the track, she reveals its origins candidly:
“‘Silver Lining’ is about having social anxiety and self-medicating yourself, whether that’s with substances and/or people,” she reveals, “it also shows someone who is so in love with the habits they use to cope with their mental health that they have forgotten the consequences those habits have on them.”
‘Silver Lining’ is out today. Like An Orchid is set for release November 24 via Liberation Records.
