Madeline The Person returns with her moving new single ‘Man On The Moon,’ a tender and poetic tribute to her late father. Out today via APOLLO Distribution, the track blends stripped-back acoustic intimacy with sweeping cinematic layers, offering a heartfelt meditation on grief, memory, and acceptance.

Beginning with delicate guitar and building into stirring strings and atmospheric textures, ‘Man On The Moon’ captures the bittersweet beauty of remembering a loved one while learning to live with loss. The song stands as a sister piece to her earlier track As A Child, further exploring the emotional landscape of losing her father.

Madeline The Person states:

“‘Man On The Moon’ is a letter to my dad who passed when I was 15. In my other songs about grief, like As A Child and Just For The Day, I try to write about all of the heavy, yet intricately tangled feelings that come with losing someone so close to you. ‘Man On The Moon’ feels different because it’s about acceptance. It’s been 8 years and I’m still grieving. I miss him every day. But I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that his life cycle was as full and lovely as it could be. I’m working on coming to terms with the fact that he got his 1 year sobriety chip and turned 60 just the week before he died. We celebrated him well before he left. It’s all so bittersweet. I’m so proud of him, and I can feel his pride in me.”

Known for turning her most personal experiences into deeply resonant storytelling, Madeline continues to connect with listeners through honesty and emotional depth. Following recent fan-favorite ‘Closest Thing,’ ‘Man On The Moon’ marks another step toward her highly anticipated debut album, set for release in 2026.
