M. Vaughan returns with emotive indie-rock single ‘Tire Swing’ from upcoming EP

Taken from his forthcoming EP, Keep in Touch, ‘Tire Swing’ offers listeners a glimpse into Vaughan’s journey of relocation from New York to Berlin to Lisbon.
Acclaimed international producer M. Vaughan unveils his latest single, ‘Tire Swing,’ marking a significant departure from his club-oriented sound towards emotive indie rock. ‘Tire Swing’ serves as a poignant reflection of M. Vaughan’s experiences during his first spring in Berlin, where he found solace in music amidst the challenges of relocation. The track emanates a sense of homesickness and longing, layered over glistening piano melodies and rhythmic intensity, reminiscent of his early influences in indie rock.
Here’s M. Vaughan discussing the track:
“I wrote ‘Tire Swing’ in my first spring in Berlin. I was listening to Fishmans and Tom Petty and keeping my sane by going on long bike rides into the woods. I had rented a tiny studio and learned that German apartments are 100% empty when you move in—no kitchen, no light fixtures, just walls. So as I was writing this song I was making appointments for night visits to IKEA to pick up countertops and shelves. I remember riding the ring-bahn one night mumbling the German word for sink (waschbecken) to myself. There’s a lot of homesickness juice in this song and a sense of waiting for things to suck less.”
‘Tire Swing’ is out now. Keep in Touch EP is out on June 14.
