Luke Hemmings, the Multi-Platinum sensation and frontman of 5 Seconds of Summer, sets the stage for his upcoming solo EP, boy, slated for release on April 26, 2024.

Emerging as the lead single from Luke Hemmings’ forthcoming EP, boy, ‘Shakes’ was crafted against the backdrop of a somber New York City evening. The track sees Hemmings beautifully encapsulate a sense of yearning for home and the emotional toll of life on the road.

Hemmings poignantly describes the lyrics, saying:

“There is a longing for love and self-acceptance, and I hope it to be a song that anyone listening can find themselves in and attach their own story.”

The EP, produced in collaboration with Sammy Witte, promises a captivating exploration of Hemmings’ musical evolution and distinctive artistry. Inspired by the likes of LCD Soundsystem and the Cocteau Twins, Luke Hemmings embarked on the creation of boy with a specific goal—capturing what he and collaborator Sammy Witte termed “the ache.” Describing it as a challenging emotion to articulate, Hemmings expresses, “I just know there’s a feeling that I get; there’s an ache. That seems to be the feeling I come back to.”

‘Shakes’ is out now. boy is set for release on April 26, 2024, via Arista Records.
