Library Card unveil their newest single ‘Well, Actually’ / announces debut EP Nothing, Interesting

Rotterdam-based post-punk sensation Library Card strike a chord with their debut EP announcement, Nothing, Interesting, set to release on March 15th via AT EASE.
Offering a taste of their fiercely expressive sound, Library Card has unleashed their newest single, ‘Well, Actually.’ Pulled from their upcoming project, the track offers a scathing yet poignant reflection on patriarchal impositions. Emerging as a highlight of their live sets, the track features vocalist Lot van Teylingen’s vehement verses, mirroring the scrutiny faced post-performance from the male gaze. The song crescendos into a compelling surge of frustration, amplifying the band’s narrative.
Speaking on the release, the band shares:
“This is our love letter to the patriarchy. ‘Well, Actually’ serves as a reminder not to offer unsolicited advice, often fueled by mansplaining or heteronormative norms, to a band fresh off the stage. We can ask for guidance when needed.”
Their debut EP, Nothing, Interesting, is set to embody a restless blend of post-punk angularity, raucous post-rock, and high-octane garage, capturing the essence of Rotterdam’s vibrant guitar music scene.
Reflecting on the EP, Lot Van Teylingen remarks:
“Nothing, Interesting delves into the complexities of existence, acknowledging the absurdity of life while navigating its challenges.”
The eagerly awaited EP, Nothing, Interesting, arrives on March 15th, marking Library Card’s bold entry onto the music scene. Meanwhile, their defiant anthem, ‘Well, Actually,’ is out now and stands as a testament to the band’s raw, unapologetic energy.
