London-based composer and producer Lauren Auder releases her new single ‘praxis,’ marking the announcement of her sophomore album Whole World As Vigil, out March 27th via untitled (recs).

‘praxis’ channels the idea of movement as survival, building into an exhilarating chorus with cyclical strings and oscillating instrumentation that mirrors the song’s thematic momentum. The track draws from a diverse sonic palette, including booming 808s nodding to Auder’s roots in rap and beat-making, while maintaining her instinct for sonic collage. The production creates a dynamic, forward-moving soundscape that reflects Auder’s reflections on generational discontent, personal growth, and emotional intensity.

Speaking about the single, Auder explains:

“‘praxis’ is built around a sample of a power drill cutting through metal, its seemingly perpetual motion and unstoppable movement felt apt to parallel with an important part of my own philosophy, that keeping yourself moving forward, is enough to live for. Musically I was inspired by Steve Reich, Kate Bush and Bruce Springsteen, trying to bring all these worlds together in a way that felt uniquely me.”

‘praxis’ is available now to stream and download on all major digital platforms.
