Lamplight, the musical endeavor of Ian Hatcher-Williams, unveils an entrancing new single, ‘House Rules,’ a heartfelt reflection on grief and reconciliation.

Taken from his eponymous debut LP, the track delves into the profound intricacies of loss and serves as a poignant reminder of the futility of holding onto grievances after death.

Hatcher-Wiliams explains of the track:

“Death has always been a deafening reminder that the anger and resentment we carry with us isn’t worth the weight it bears. This song came in the form of a mantra to myself, spilling out as I was grieving just days before the recording session, thinking the record might get canned. Love as many as you can, and forgive the rest. As we all hurtle to our end, love is all there is time for.”

Lamplight’s forthcoming debut LP promises to be a profound and deeply personal sonic exploration, offering listeners an introspective journey through themes of growth, forgiveness, and the complexities of identity.

‘House Rules’ is out today on all DSPs. The forthcoming eponymous debut LP is scheduled for release on March 8th, 2024, via Western Vinyl.
