Lamplight illuminates his journey with new single ‘Call Your Mom’ / Announces debut album

The self-titled debut album is set to release on March 8th, 2024, under the Western Vinyl label.
Alongside this announcement, Lamplight shares the lead single, ‘Call Your Mom.’ Produced by Kevin Copeland (Lightning Bug) the song is a poignant track delving into the emotions associated with distant loved ones.
Emphasizing its emotional weight, Hatcher-Williams dives into the essence of the song:
“There’s this lightning-like pang of the heart that comes to you when you’re drunk in a bar, far away from your first home, thinking of those you’ve loved. It’s so heavy it has mass. It’s not altogether remorseful, but rather this other thing, hot to the touch, pulsing with gratitude and joy and longing, about to burst, and you keep it beside you. You get up in the morning and go back to work. Hopefully, you call your mom.”
The self-titled album encapsulates Lamplight’s odyssey, from his upbringing in a Virginia cult to life as a drained tech worker in New York and ultimately back to Virginia, happily married. Themes of identity and the interplay between one’s origins and current residence form the crux of the album, unraveling the complexity of self-discovery and letting go of certain aspects to welcome new growth.
‘Call Your Mom’ is out now. Lamplight’s self-titled debut album is set to release on March 8th, 2024, under the Western Vinyl label.
