La Force releases new single/video ‘How Do You Love A Man’
The single is the third to be released from her upcoming album XO Skeleton, set for release in late September via Secret City Records.
Born and based in Montreal, solo artist and member of Broken Social Scene, La Force has released her third single of 2023. Follow-up to July’s ‘October,’ her latest gift is a shining 3-and-a-half-minute endeavor that sees her shimmer on top of a subdued guitar and drum track.
The song is “a swan song to a dead man,” in which La Force questions love beyond the grave. “How do you continue to give and receive love when the person you love is dead?” she inquires. “It’s about loving into a void. It’s about loving and communing with the spirit of a dead atheist who didn’t believe in spirit.” Directed by Ali Vanderkruyk, Engle, and Caely White the video explores a desire to change shape in order to connect with a soul that is no longer in this world.
