Brixton trio kid apollo announce new EP u the real star here (out November 19th) and release new single ‘camera shy.’
Brixton lo-fi, hip-hop, and alt-R&B trio kid apollo have announced a new EP entitled u the real star here. Due out November 19 via Sweat Entertainment, the group has also released their latest look at the EP, ‘camera shy.’
Written and produced by kid apollo, with additional production from Tev’n (Joy Crookes, Rina Sawayama) and mixed by JHJ (cityboymoe, Mac Wetha, Olivia Dean), the track was written about a relationship that left Jimmy second guessing things.
Speaking on the lyrical inspiration behind the new track, Jimmy HM said:
“This song’s about when you’ve met someone but for whatever reason, they just seem different to most people that you’ve met before. You never really know what they’re thinking/feeling but that’s what keeps you there in a weird way. I feel that comfort – in this sense – is actually what pushes you away, even if you think you’re wanting that stability.”
‘camera shy’ is available today. u the real star here is set for release on November 19.
