Mersey four-piece Keyside returns with ‘Michael (What’s Your Call?),’ a hard-hitting yet melodic single that serves as the emotional centerpiece of their newly released second EP.

Recorded at Kempston Street Studios with producer Chris Taylor (Courteeners, Blossoms), ‘Michael (What’s Your Call?)’ captures the struggles of lost weekends, heartbreak, and a life slipping through the cracks. Wrapped in ringing guitar lines and a soaring chorus, the track tells a sobering story of friendship and concern. The song’s structure places the listener inside Michael’s head during the verses, while the chorus unfolds as a desperate phone call from a worried friend.

Reflecting on the single, frontman Dan Parker explains:

“We’re inside Michael’s head for the verse. But the chorus plays out as a phone call to Michael, from a worried friend. We all know a Michael. Someone whose friends notice they’re not themself. Someone who disappears. Someone who can’t get home. This song is a reminder that reaching out to a friend when they’re struggling can save a life.”

As the band rides a wave of acclaim, Keyside is set to embark on a five-date UK tour, with multiple shows already sold out. Their upcoming performances include:

March 12 – Leeds, Oporto – SOLD OUT
March 13 – Glasgow, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut
March 14 – Liverpool, Arts Club – SOLD OUT
March 16 – Manchester, Deaf Institute – SOLD OUT
