Jahnah Camille signs to Winspear / Announces debut EP / Shares first single ‘flesh’

Her debut EP, I Tried To Freeze The Light, But Only Remember A Girl out June 21st.
Having garnered attention since her high school days with songs that delve into the rollercoaster of teenage emotions, Jahnah Camille (pronounced “Hannah”) has steadily built her reputation, earning opening slots for acts like Clairo, Soccer Mommy, Cryogeyser, and Wednesday. Today, the rising star announces her debut EP, I Tried to Freeze Light, But Only Remember a Girl, along with her signing to Winspear, who will release the EP on June 21st. To mark this milestone, Jahnah has shared her first single for the label, ‘flesh.’
Recorded during trips to Atlanta while she was still in high school, the upcoming EP captures the uncertainty and hopefulness of her late teen years, influenced by musical icons like Liz Phair and Fiona Apple. The EP’s lead single, ‘flesh,’ showcases Camille’s promise as a songwriter, weaving her reflections on the 2018 romantic comedy About Time into a poignant and captivating piece of indie pop.
Camille shares her thoughts on the track:
“‘flesh’ is heavily inspired by the movie About Time and what it means to me. The movie is about a young guy who finds out the men in his family’s ability to time travel. He ultimately uses this ability to be mindful and live each day intentionally. The song is about my own relationship with intention.”
‘flesh’ is out now. Her debut EP, I Tried To Freeze The Light, But Only Remember A Girl out June 21st.
