Latin indie rockers Inner Wave have returned with ‘Madre,’ their first new solo single since 2021’s Apoptosis and the debut release under their new label home, Nettwerk.

‘Madre’ features laid-back yet infectious guitar melodies, thick kick drums, and a playful synth line that bursts to life during the chorus. The track’s layered arrangement reflects the band’s growth since their last album, weaving in melodic details that nod to their West Coast hip-hop influences while pushing their sound into new territory. It also serves as the first taste of their upcoming full-length album.

Bassist Jean-Pierre Narvaez explains:

“The song is all about strong melodies and rhythms. We allowed for all these other melodies to kind of come up from under the vocal melody as well, which was what I was really into while writing the bass line for that one. It also speaks to our West Coast hip-hop background—it has a bounce that I don’t really hear other bands doing.”

Frontman Pablo Sotelo adds that ‘Madre’ reflects a deeper evolution in the band’s mindset.

“There’s a lot of letting go of things and embracing the uncomfortable—the unknown. We’ve all become more self-aware and mindful of others, and that led us to make this record.”

With ‘Madre,’ Inner Wave bridges their signature dreamy psychedelia with a fresh rhythmic confidence, hinting at an exciting new chapter for the band as they gear up for their next album.
