Inner Wave announce new album See You When I Get Back and share single ‘Child’
LA-based Latin indie band Inner Wave have announced their fifth album, See You When I Get Back, due out February 27, 2026, via Nettwerk. Alongside the announcement, the SoCal quintet have released their new single ‘Child,’ available today on all streaming platforms with an accompanying music video.
‘Child’ marks the band’s third single of 2025, following August’s ‘Madre’ and September’s ‘Push.’ Blending the three-chord simplicity of a classic pop song with frequent shifts in time signature, the track embodies the experimental spirit that defines See You When I Get Back. The song pulls inspiration from early 2000s and late 1970s rock staples, borrowing the intro feel from The Darkness’s ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ and the guitar tone from The Cars’ ‘Just What I Needed.’ Lyrically, vocalist Pablo Sotelo reflects on an idealized version of the past, a theme that ties into the band’s exploration of memory, maturity, and personal evolution.
Bassist Jean-Pierre Narvaez shares:
“This is one of those songs that deserves to be on Song Exploder. I think super fans, music nerds and musicians alike will be psyched on figuring this number out. There are only so many songs that work in the ‘pop structure’ context that can hold down a weird time signature and be as fluid as this one.”
‘Child’ is available now on all streaming platforms. See You When I Get Back arrives February 27, 2026, via Nettwerk.
