The track is pulled from the artist’s upcoming album, I Am Toward You, set to be released on May 10th via Sargent House.

How To Dress Well, the musical project of Tom Krell offers a glimpse into his forthcoming album, I Am Toward You, with the release of the new single ‘Contingency/Necessity (Modality of Fate).’ Returning after a six-year hiatus the track is a multi-layered, emotionally resonant track that immerses listeners in Krell’s introspective musings. Built around the ambient sounds of heavy rain recorded in Berlin in 2013 and adorned with chopped acoustic guitar, the song encapsulates Krell’s life experiences and reflections on the interplay between chance and destiny.

Krell says of the track:

“‘Contingency/Necessity (Modality of Fate)’ is a song about how random decisions and random historical contingencies come together to shape a life into something undeniable and necessary.”

‘Contingency/Necessity (Modality of Fate)’ is out now. I Am Toward You, is set to be released on May 10th via Sargent House.
