London’s Home Counties thrusts listeners into a vibrant sonic landscape with their latest single, ‘Uptight’ – an energetic and introspective track offering a taste of their much-anticipated debut album, Exactly As It Seems, set to release on May 3, 2024, via Submarine Cat Records.

‘Uptight,’ the latest offering from Home Counties, serves as an “anti-clubbing anthem,” pulsating with agitated indie-disco vibes. On it, the band explores the complexities of clubbing in their mid-twenties, weaving dynamic beats and angular dual-guitar work into a sonic tapestry.

Vocalist/guitarist Will Harrison candidly addresses the song’s themes, capturing the essence of resisting the allure of nightlife and the internal struggle of growing older while navigating the lively yet frustrating club scene.

“‘Uptight’ is our answer to a 00’s club banger, complete with the crudest synth tones and Britney-esque ad-libs. In contrast to your typical ‘dance-all-night-long’ mantra of 00s pop songs, ‘Uptight’ is about not wanting to go clubbing anymore.”

Home Counties’ debut album, Exactly As It Seems, is due for release on May 3, 2024 via Submarine Cat Records. New single ‘Uptight’ is out now.
