Home Counties return with their jittery, synth-drenched single ‘Humdrum,’ the title track from their forthcoming second album, due October 24 via Submarine Cat Records.

‘Humdrum’ is a swirling, hook-laced spiral of krautrock and synthpop, lyrically fixated on self-sabotage and success-envy. Originally nearly scrapped, the song morphed through different styles before settling into its final frenetic form, delivering both sonic polish and chaotic honesty.

Regarding the upcoming album, the band shared about their time in the studio with producer Al Doyle:

“We gave ourselves time to experiment and to refine sounds. It led to a more collaborative approach, with us performing collectively on the same synthesiser to capture more human performances from electronic instruments.”

‘Humdrum’ is out now on all platforms. Home Counties’ second full-length Humdrum is available to pre-order ahead of its release on October 24.
