‘Isla’ is out now ahead of his forthcoming album Familiarity, set for release on September 13th.

Encapsulating the sounds of summer, Henry Green has returned with his brand-new slice of heaven, ‘Isla,’ set to feature on his forthcoming album Familiarity, due to land on September 13th. Forming a lush-like listen drenched in rich orchestral instruments (trumpet, saxophone, and strings) and laced with delicate vocals, ‘Isla’ is an irresistible single that boasts a rejuvenated feel. Clocking in at just under four minutes long, Henry Green created a seamless duality throughout the track; the soft vocals and simplistic lyrics against the swelling production that’s reminiscent of a summer’s day with friends.

Speaking on the making of the track, Henry Green explained:

“‘Isla’ was originally a sample-based beat that naturally developed into a vocal-based track. The groove was always integral to the idea, along with the vocal cuts, originally from a session I did with the wonderful Andreya Triana. I built around those elements, leaning in to more organic, live sounds.. rich layers of trumpet, sax, and strings to juxtapose the more delicate keys and tuned percussion. It always felt like a slight departure from my usual style, so I did find myself questioning it regularly, shifting parts around and retracking elements until it felt natural. It definitely feels like this song could’ve taken so many different routes, but I finally settled on this arrangement. I love the way the drums feel, and I love the simplicity of the lyrics.”

‘Isla’ is out now. Pre-Save Familiarity here.
