Released via Amuse, the track balances heartfelt introspection with playful irreverence, offering listeners a wry take on finding silver linings in the aftermath of heartbreak.

Brooklyn-based artist Harrison Lipton channels post-breakup melancholy into a cheeky soft rock anthem on his latest single, ‘On My Own.’ Rooted in 70s-inspired “dad rock” aesthetics, the track leans on Lipton’s smooth, earnest vocals to carry its duality of humor and sadness. Co-written in a small bedroom studio in Carroll Gardens alongside Aidan Ludlam of the booyah! kids, the song captures the dissonance between being dumped and learning to be okay. “He helped me balance the dissonance between being dumped and finding how to be okay with it,” shared Lipton. This juxtaposition shines through in the song’s lyrics, which blend vulnerability with a sardonic edge.

Accompanying the single is a 16mm film music video directed by Yishen Wang. An ode to New York City, the video features Lipton navigating the chaos of the city’s streets, encountering a cast of infamous locals—including Times Square’s Naked Cowboy. The visuals add a layer of charm and relatability to Lipton’s storytelling, emphasizing the humor and poignancy that define the track.

‘On My Own’ is out now.
