Brighton indie/dream-pop newcomers Goodbye release their debut single ‘Meat,’ recorded at Unwound Studios with producer Morgan Fraser-Jones. This independent release marks the band’s official debut after emerging from Brighton’s vibrant DIY scene.

‘Meat’ showcases Goodbye’s agitated dream-pop sound, weaving guitars, driving rhythms, and confident vocals. The track leans into contrasts—comforting yet coarse, vulnerable yet tough—capturing tense emotions in three intense minutes. It explores the unsettling sensation of being objectified, mirroring jagged edges and vivid delivery.

Lead vocalist Megan Wheeler explains the inspiration behind the single:

“‘Meat’ sort of touches on the idea that some men see women as lustful objects rather than human beings, ogling them as meat. Sometimes you catch a stranger’s eye and they look right through you, as though they are stripping you of everything you are, your personality, skills, talent reduced to just meat. In my experience the majority of women I know have felt this in some form so I kept the lyrics deliberately vague and open to interpretation.”

Goodbye will celebrate the release with an intimate performance at Bella Union Record Shop in Brighton on December 3, followed by additional shows in 2026. Upcoming dates include January 10 at London’s Sebright Arms for the East London Block Party and May 23 at Southampton’s Wanderlust Festival.

‘Meat’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
