Glixen pushes boundaries with new single ‘Lick the Star’
Phoenix shoegazers Glixen have unveiled their latest single, ‘Lick the Star,’ offering a tantalizing preview of their upcoming sophomore EP, Quiet Pleasures, set to release February 21, 2025.
‘Lick the Star’ begins with an eerie stillness, its quiet intro building into a tempest of distortion and feedback. Layers of lulling vocals, silver-lined melodies, and intricate guitar riffs create a wall of sound that embodies the band’s experimental edge. Produced by Sonny DiPerri, known for his work with My Bloody Valentine and DIIV, the track balances heaviness with melody, further solidifying Glixen’s reputation for crafting immersive musical landscapes.
