Gem Club release their new single ‘Garlands,’ taken from the upcoming album Emerald Press, due out on April 17, 2026.

‘Garlands’ centers on sparse, emotive arrangements built around resonant piano and cello by Alex Norberg, continuing Gem Club’s signature blend of dream pop and cinematic orchestration. The track unfolds with a restrained, weightless feel as it explores the emotional labor within relationships. The single follows the lead track ‘Aperture,’ further establishing the album’s themes of intimacy, expectation, and emotional uncertainty.

Barnes shares:

“‘Garlands’ came out of witnessing the slow dissolution of a close friend’s relationship. Being close to that process made me think about how many of the small gestures that hold intimacy together can get lost in translation, and how much uncertainty we sometimes tolerate just to remain connected. I watched one person in the relationship lay offering after offering at the feet of the other — over and over — and it struck me how much time, labor, and emotional effort goes into making those garlands. Part of me wanted to step in and say: what about you? where are you in all of this?”

‘Garlands’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
