Brighton-based indie-folk artist Frances Mistry continues her upward trajectory with the release of her latest single, ‘do i belong here?,’ a quietly moving track out now via APOLLO Distribution.

Delicate and introspective, ‘do i belong here?’ unfolds with soft fingerstyle guitar and shimmering melodies, offering a reflective look at belonging and the emotional weight tied to familiar places. Inspired by her experiences in Brighton and the sea that surrounds it, the song captures a moment of personal reckoning, giving voice to feelings of displacement, healing, and rediscovery. It’s an emotionally raw yet sonically understated piece that fits seamlessly into Mistry’s growing catalog of heartfelt, poetic songwriting.

Mistry states:

“‘do i belong here?’ is a stripped-back song where I just wanted the music to speak for itself. It represents my mind at the time of writing, a lot of reflection, and negative feelings associated with places I once loved. I also wanted it to feel like the place I was writing about, Brighton, and being by the sea. Luckily I’ve found where I belong now and these places have new, positive memories associated with them.”

The single is the latest offering from her forthcoming third EP, set to arrive this spring. ‘do i belong here?’ is out now.
