Forest leans into contrast on ‘Whore and Savior’
Forest releases their new single ‘Whore and Savior,’ out now, as the Los Angeles alt-rock artist continues to build momentum ahead of her debut album, due in 2026.
Driven by pummeling riffs and a dense layer of fuzz, ‘Whore and Savior’ blends elements of shoegaze, pop, industrial, and 90s rock into a tightly constructed track. Forest’s vocals sit at the center, balancing vulnerability with a confrontational edge.
Forest shares about the new single:
“I really drew on experiences of first love, and teenagehood. I wanted it to feel like looking back on a memory that was beautiful at the time, but has been overshadowed by sadness or loneliness. There’s also a sense of juxtaposition in womanhood I wanted to explore. The dichotomy between being pure and sexual, naïve and all knowing, and of course whore and savior. For a formative part of my life, I felt in the middle of it all, in a tug of war trying to be everything all at once.”
‘Whore and Savior’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
