flipturn’s latest single ‘Juno’ sets the stage for their upcoming album Burnout Days

Florida indie-rock quintet flipturn announces their sophomore album Burnout Days, set for release on January 24th via Dualtone Records, with the drop of their latest single, ‘Juno.’
‘Juno’ came together unexpectedly, its distinctive opening riff sparked when guitarist and synth player Mitch Fountain accidentally dropped his Juno synthesizer, creating a sound that immediately grabbed the band’s attention. This serendipitous moment led to an upbeat indie-pop anthem chronicling the band’s adventures across America in their tour bus, “Peggy.” With pulsing synths and lush textures, the song exudes a dreamlike farewell to summer. The track resonates with fans of The 1975, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Empire of the Sun while remaining uniquely flipturn.
In discussing the track’s meaning, flipturn shared:
“Our van Pegasus, “Peggy” for short, really became the closest thing to home we had when touring. A lot of our family and friends for years would assume that the rockstar lifestyle was how they saw it in movies or pop culture but in reality, it is a much different experience. It truly is an insane thing to do and you kinda have to be a little delusional to do it. Juno also is meant to highlight the toxic positivity that I think we’ve all experienced when we feel like we need to tell our friends and family “we’re living the dream” when we are still very much chasing the dream.”
With Burnout Days on the horizon, flipturn’s ‘Juno’ is a perfect teaser of the vibrant energy we can expect from the album.
