Fascinations Grand Chorus embrace analog warmth on new single ‘Static Heartbreaks’
Jersey City indie-pop duo Fascinations Grand Chorus return with their latest single ‘Static Heartbreaks,’ out now.
‘Static Heartbreaks’ showcases the band’s vintage-drenched sound, blending warm pop textures with emotional depth. Stephanie Cupo and Andrew Pierce lean into the comforting glow of retro media, capturing how music and film can resonate as a “physical manifestation” that connects directly to the listener’s emotions. The track is paired with a Super 8 video directed by Bob Sweeney, featuring archival 1970s television footage interwoven with new footage of the duo.
Cupo reflects on the single:
“There’s a feeling that you can tune into music or film and at the same time it tunes into you… If we watch Ghoulies 2 or listen to The Orlons every time we are sad and it makes us happy, that’s very significant.”
‘Static Heartbreaks’ follows the band’s 2024 Summer Love EP and 2022 full-length Terror In The Night, cementing Fascinations Grand Chorus’ knack for blending sun-soaked indie-pop with moments of horror-inflected playfulness. The single captures the heart of the band’s analog aesthetic, making it both a nostalgic and fresh listening experience for long-time fans and newcomers alike.
