Ducks Ltd. shares new single ‘Grim Symmetry’

Toronto-based indie-pop duo Ducks Ltd. have released their latest single, ‘Grim Symmetry,’ via Carpark Records.
‘Grim Symmetry’ continues Ducks Ltd.’s signature style of bright, energetic guitar pop, produced by Dave Vettriano and featuring backing vocals from Julia Steiner of Ratboys and Margaret McCarthy of Moontype. Though initially written during the creation of their 2021 album Modern Fiction, the song finally found its full potential during the recording sessions for Harm’s Way. However, it didn’t quite fit the album’s overall tone, so the band kept it aside until now.
As vocalist and guitarist Tom McGreevy explains:
“We wrote it early on in the Modern Fiction writing process, and the demo was a favorite among the people we shared those with, but we didn’t quite get it right when we tried to record it for that album. We always liked it though, so we kept it around and tried it again when we were tracking Harm’s Way. It didn’t end up quite fitting the vibe of the album, but we did manage to get it to where we wanted it to be, so it’s exciting to finally share it.”
‘Grim Symmetry’ not only showcases the band’s sharp pop instincts but also reflects the more refined, collaborative approach they’ve taken in their recent work. As they prepare for their upcoming tour dates with Ratboys, this single highlights the continuous evolution of Ducks Ltd.’s sound, keeping fans excited for what’s next.
