Dorothy releases their new single ‘Dorothy’ today, delivering the final preview of their debut EP Sea Songs, out Friday via Angel Tapes / Fire Talk. The UK-based trio—Jude Woodhead (Saint Jude), Marco Pini (GG Skips, Sorry, RIP Magic), and Francesca Brierley (heka)—continue to expand their collaborative world with a self-titled track that sets the tone for the forthcoming project.

Built as the EP’s closer, ‘Dorothy’ functions as a reflective, nearly wordless composition. Organs swell beneath layers of oceanic analog textures, while filtered vocals drift in and out of the mix. The single leans into atmosphere rather than narrative, bringing Sea Songs to a serene, immersive conclusion. Its soundscape centers on slow-moving tonal shifts and ambient detail, immersing listeners in the aquatic themes that shape the project.

Of the track, Dorothy describes the scene that inspired it:

“‘Dorothy’ walks down Ocean Avenue and sits on a bench at the edge of the sand, listening to the people, watching the sun stretch over the horizon like a jammy orange egg yolk. She talks on the telephone. She sits there until the day is done.”

Sea Songs is out Friday via Angel Tapes / Fire Talk. ‘Dorothy’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
