Diles que no me maten releases their new single ‘Hiriku’ ahead of their upcoming album Escrito en Agua, due June 5th. The single arrives with a self-directed video and precedes an extensive world tour spanning North and South America, the U.K., and Canada.

‘Hiriku’ is a krautrock-inspired track that contrasts with the reflective pace of Escrito en Agua, combining high-energy instrumentation with lyrical exploration of the soul and its movement. The song’s lyrics draw from José Vicente Anaya’s poem Híkuri, with lead singer Jonás Derbez repeating mantra-like lines: “La mitad que soy no existe, y la mitad que existe no soy,” a meditation on leaving one’s former self behind. The accompanying video incorporates visual inspiration from face yoga TikTokers and long-standing collaborator Camila Arroyo, offering a surreal yet intimate perspective on the song’s themes.

Derbez explains:

“‘Hiriku’ is a krautrock style song that speaks of the drifting of the soul and the possibilities of being everywhere just by traveling through the heart. The lyrics are inspired by the poem ‘Híkuri’ by Mexico’s José Vicente Anaya.”

‘Hiriku’ and pre-orders for Escrito en Agua are available now on all streaming platforms.
