Daphni balances light and shadow on new double single ‘Good Night Baby’ and ‘Talk To Me’
Daphni shares two new singles, ‘Good Night Baby’ and ‘Talk To Me,’ out now via Jiaolong, continuing the rollout for his upcoming album Butterfly, due February 6, 2026.
The double release highlights the duality at the core of Daphni’s sound, pairing a playful, emotionally open track with a darker, more restrained counterpart. ‘Good Night Baby’ leans into warmth and melodic softness, unfolding as a loved-up house cut that emphasizes feeling over precision. In contrast, ‘Talk To Me’ strips things back to their essentials, moving through sparse techno textures built from low-end wubs, drums, and vocal fragments. Together, the two tracks operate as a yin-yang statement, showing how Daphni continues to explore balance between exuberance and restraint within house and techno frameworks.
Speaking of ‘Good Night Baby’, Snaith says:
“‘Good Night Baby’ is a good illustration of how far a finished track can end up from it’s origin / of how rudderless I am when making music most of the time. This one started out more like the mostly drums only track that you hear towards the end… but somewhere along the way turned into a big mushy loved up track with all the feels.”
On ‘Talk To Me,’ Snaith adds:
“The polar opposite of ‘Good Night Baby’, it’s rare that I manage to keep my tracks as sparse and spare as this one—just wubs, drums, voices and occasionally a little synth melody. I didn’t think that this was done until I played it out but on a big soundsystem it struck me that this was all it needed.”
‘Good Night Baby’ and ‘Talk To Me’ are available now on all streaming platforms.
We’ve covered Daphni previously: ‘Waiting So Long (feat. Caribou)‘ and ‘Lucky.’
