LA-based multi-disciplinary artist Daisy Hamel-Buffa, known as DAISY WORLD, has dropped her latest single ‘pho & cry,’ offering a glimpse into her highly anticipated debut solo album, TOOTHPICK, set to release on April 26th.

‘Wasted Youth’ captures Daisy’s intimate songwriting style, blending 90s grunge pop ballad influences with soulful R&B elements. On ‘pho & cry’, Daisy shares her experience of walking away from something she knew she needed to leave behind while acknowledging the pain it caused to those important to her.

“‘pho & cry’ is my ode to all the sweet 90s grunge pop ballads i grew up singing and swaying to. i wrote this about navigating (and) walking away from something that you know you need to while acknowledging that you’re going to be really hurting people that are important to you in the process. pushing yourself to grow while grieving what you’re leaving behind.”

Self-produced alongside Albert Jairo Gordon, with additional production from Matt Emonson and instrumental contributions from Patrick Paige II, Waylon Rector, Justin Jackson, and Matthew Fildey, TOOTHPICK is a collection of songs written and produced entirely in Daisy’s colorful bedroom studio. Despite their delicate nature, the tracks on TOOTHPICK exude a transparency and vulnerability reminiscent of therapy sessions. The album is a culmination of her personal and artistic journey, marking a time of transformation and self-discovery.

‘pho & cry’ is out now. Her debut solo album, TOOTHPICK, is set to release on April 26th.
