Cristóvam drops ‘Fever’ ft Boy & Bear and announces new album Desert of Fools

Cristóvam returns with ‘Fever,’ a spellbinding new single that sets the tone for his upcoming third studio album, Desert of Fools, out October 10th via V2 Records.
‘Fever’ is a richly atmospheric track that walks a fine line between struggle and redemption. Haunting and immersive, the song explores the delicate balance between “chaos and hope,” weaving dreamy melodies with a deep emotional undercurrent. For this release, the Portuguese singer-songwriter collaborated with Australian indie-folk band Boy & Bear, creating a unique sonic blend that fuses introspective folk with expansive, ambient textures.
Directed by Diogo Rola, the music video mirrors the song’s duality. Set against the striking backdrops of the Azores and Australia, the video follows Cristóvam through a surreal dreamscape filled with symbolic visuals—old televisions, shifting realities, and a mysterious journey that echoes the track’s central themes of distance and disconnection.
Cristóvam explains:
“I think all touring musicians experience it to some degree, but living so far from the cultural centers of the world only intensifies the disconnection. When I’m not touring, I often feel like I’m in limbo, never fully in one place. That feeling of never truly being present is something I think a lot of people can relate to—when your body is physically in one place, going through the motions on autopilot, but your mind is somewhere else entirely. I often find myself thinking, what a foolish place to be. It’s a feeling that lingers even now—one that you have to learn to live with if you want a career in the performing arts but don’t want to move to a big city.”
‘Fever’ is out now on your favorite DSP.
