Cootie Catcher charge ahead with new single ‘Straight Drop’ and announce new album
Toronto’s Cootie Catcher releases their new single ‘Straight Drop,’ the lead track from their newly announced album Something We All Got, out February 27, 2026, via Carpark Records.
Built around spiralling synths, bright guitars, and driving rhythms, ‘Straight Drop’ expands Cootie Catcher’s energetic blend of twee-leaning indie pop and lo-fi textures. The track explores vulnerability in unexpected places, adding emotional tension beneath its upbeat production.
Vocalist/bassist Anita Fowl explains:
“This one came from frustration of being vulnerable in the ‘wrong’ places. I can fully have a cry in front of strangers while taking the bus but then clam up when I’m in front of people I’m close with. That generally parallels my experience performing live, where I’m so unsure in person but can get so much out on stage.”
‘Straight Drop’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
