cootie catcher share ‘Quarter Note Rock,’ the final single before their album Something We All Got drops this Friday, February 27 via Carpark Records. The Toronto band’s latest is streaming now, ahead of their North American tour starting March 4.

‘Quarter Note Rock’ captures cootie catcher’s blend of vulnerability and kinetic indie pop. Built on skittering rhythms, chiming guitars, spiraling synths, and giddy electronics, the track leans into the band’s balance of open-hearted tenderness and chaotic energy. As with the previously released singles ‘Puzzle Pop,’ ‘Straight Drop,’ and ‘Gingham Dress,’ the song reflects the trio of songwriters’ shared themes of romantic and platonic relationships, local social scenes, and the everyday realities of playing in a band.

Guitarist/singer Nolan Jakupovski explains:

“‘Quarter Note Rock’ is about putting yourself out there on public display and not expecting perfection. Often writers feel nervous being so open in their lyrics but it’s those moments of vulnerability that people relate to most. Don’t be afraid to fall flat on your face, someone will say ‘literally me!'”

The band will support the album with tour dates starting March 4th in Montreal, QC, at Sotterenea, including March 6th at The New Colossus Festival in New York, NY, appearances at SXSW in Austin, TX, from March 16–18, and a hometown record release show on March 29th at Garrison in Toronto, ON, alongside stops across the U.S. and Canada.

‘Quarter Note Rock’ is out now. Something We All Got arrives February 27th, 2026 via Carpark Records and will be available on all streaming platforms.

We’ve covered Cootie Catcher previously: ‘Puzzle Top,’ and ‘Straight Drop.’
