Montreal-based artist Common Holly—the musical moniker of Brigitte Naggar—returns with ‘Aegean Blue,’ the first glimpse of her forthcoming album, Anything Glass (June 13, 2025, via Paper Bag Records and Keeled Scales).

‘Aegean Blue’ is a tranquil, meditative track that builds on delicate piano work and doubled vocals, creating an almost spell-like quality. While sonically serene, the song wrestles with themes of meaninglessness and self-reckoning, embodying the album’s overarching search for clarity and purpose. Naggar describes it as “a reckoning in meaninglessness and unending pursuit,” written during a period of transition and reflection. “This song sits squarely in the album’s theme of orienting toward what matters most, doing things differently when they aren’t feeling right.”

With influences from Bill Callahan, Mount Eerie, Lomelda, and Leonard Cohen, Naggar’s music balances gentleness with an edge, evoking both vulnerability and quiet resilience. The upcoming Anything Glass promises to expand her sonic palette, capturing a live-band energy that infuses each track with warmth and immediacy. Across its ten tracks, the album explores fragility, impermanence, and the search for meaning, culminating in a deeply personal yet universally resonant collection of songs.

‘Aegean Blue’ is available now, with Anything Glass set to arrive on June 13. Vinyl pre-orders are open via Paper Bag Records.
