Oxnard indie rock duo Chatterton has returned with ‘Blouse,’ the lead single and closing track from their forthcoming EP Tiny Empire, out September 19 via 7th Heaven. The single arrives alongside an official music video ahead of their support slot with Coma Cinema this Saturday, September 6 at the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles.

‘Blouse’ builds from crescendoing bossa nova-inspired instrumentals into shimmering vocals, weaving biting lyricism with sauntering brass solos. The track showcases the duo’s evolving sound, blending levity and tension in equal measure. Its accompanying music video follows bandleaders Brock Pierce and Logan Scrivner through a floral-themed journey filmed in suburban Southern California, highlighting the group’s knack for pairing emotional complexity with playful visuals.

Pierce explains:

“This song [‘Blouse’] was the last one we recorded for the EP. It started as something I was absentmindedly strumming between sessions. Logan really liked it so we spent some time working on it before eventually shelving the idea. It wasn’t until the final few sessions that we decided, on impulse, to finish it for the EP. We even cut a song to make room for it. I’m glad it worked out that way.”

Fans can catch Chatterton live this weekend as they open for Coma Cinema in Los Angeles, a preview of what promises to be a strong next chapter for the Southern California duo. ‘Blouse’ is out now.
