Chase Petra grapples with adulthood in new single ‘Centrifugal Force’
Long Beach-based trio Chase Petra has unveiled their latest single and video, ‘Centrifugal Force,’ via Wax Bodega.
‘Centrifugal Force’ offers a theatrical, bass-driven groove as vocalist and guitarist Hunter Allen reflects on the tension between lifelong dreams and the weight of adult responsibilities. The track builds on the themes of growth and self-discovery that defined their debut album, Liminal, grappling with the realities of pursuing music as a career.
Allen explains:
“This song deals with what it means to be an adult who’s playing music and also has bills to pay. I’ve wanted to do this my whole life, and I’ve never second-guessed that – but now my frontal lobe is fully developed, and I’m starting to wonder if this is really going to make me happy or if it’s going to tear me apart.”
