Cardboard channel frustration and defiance on new single ‘Wouldn’t Let You Realise’

London-based quartet Cardboard continues to bring their garage-band grit and sharp indie instincts to the forefront with their latest single, ‘Wouldn’t Let You Realise.’ Out now, the track captures the youthful energy and raw emotion that define the band’s sound.
Steeped in the influence of classic indie and garage rock, ‘Wouldn’t Let You Realise’ combines punchy instrumentation with a message that feels both personal and universal. The track explores the helplessness and frustration of witnessing someone you care about fall victim to manipulation, unable to see the truth for themselves. The searing guitar lines and propulsive rhythm mirror the urgency and anger of its lyrics, creating a dynamic that’s as cathartic as it is relatable.
Frontman Dan Hacker elaborates on the song’s meaning, saying:
“‘Wouldn’t Let You Realise’ is about you, your friend, your partner, your sibling, anyone who’s ever been blind to someone who is only out to tear them down. Picking apart the pieces of life that make them whole all the while distracting them with lies and false promises.
“It comes from the perspective of a bystander, who tries to pull the blanket from over their eyes to no avail. The music around the words embodies the anger and frustration of the third party watching this relationship play out, while seemingly not being able to do anything to help.”
‘Wouldn’t Let You Realise’ is available now on your favorite streaming service.
