Blusher looks forward to fresh starts with dance-pop single ‘Somebody New’
Melbourne-based trio Blusher drops their final single of 2024, ‘Somebody New,’ a dancefloor anthem that explores the thrill of new beginnings and the joy of friendships that support us through them.
Rounding out a year marked by a series of punchy pop releases, Blusher takes listeners on a dynamic journey of breakups, rebounds, and rediscovery with ‘Somebody New.’ From January’s Charli XCX-inspired track ‘Rave Angel‘ to this latest release, Blusher has built a world all its own. Each member of the band has also offered solo re-imaginings of their singles, adding another layer of depth to their ever-evolving sound.
Blusher describes ‘Somebody New’:
“‘Somebody New’ is our fun, flirty mantra that mirrors the cycle of breaking up, rebounding, swearing off love, and knowing you’ll do it all over again. Mostly, it’s a love song to the friends who are by your side through the whole process. Late nights out with your new crush, first kisses in the club followed by tears on the dancefloor – whatever stage of the cycle you’re in at the moment, we wrote this song to be the soundtrack.”
Having already supported acts like Tove Lo, Aurora, and Kylie Minogue, Blusher is primed for a breakthrough in Australia’s pop scene, bringing their anthemic pop sound and authentic storytelling to fans at their debut headline shows this December.
