bloodsports sign to Good English and share new single ‘Rosary’
New York City’s bloodsports have signed with new indie label Good English Records and released ‘Rosary,’ the first single from their debut album Anything Can Be A Hammer, due October 17.
The emotionally raw track unfolds with patience and weight, driven by frontperson Sam Murphy’s stirring vocals and a building arrangement that rewards listeners with a climactic payoff. As a preview of what’s to come on Anything Can Be A Hammer, ‘Rosary’ hints at a more dynamic and refined sound from the band known for their jagged guitar work and emotionally charged performances.
Sam explains:
“This song was written about a relationship that I ended, and reminiscing about the feelings months after the fact. Lyrically, it’s a very bittersweet song. It looks back positively on the time that was spent, but there’s also a layer of regret about the things that never quite came to fruition. It’s strange to sing live now because the relationship that it’s referencing has since been rekindled, but I can still connect to those feelings from back then.”
‘Rosary’ is out now. Anything Can Be A Hammer will be released digitally, on cassette, and on vinyl via Good English Records on October 17, 2025.
